• A very pretty country style antique French bed, repainted white and distressed for a clean fresh shabby chic finish.
• Circa 1930s, painted over a mix of woods including pine.
• Some pieces of decoration missing from the bottom of the bed – see gallery photos.
• The inside of the sides have been left unpainted – the hardwood that these have been made from is very pretty, with original stencilling and we decided to leave this as it is, with just a wax finish.
• A few old woodworm holes in the bed, no sign of any current woodworm, and this bed has been treated against them. We always recommend you check any antique wood over time and treat as necessary.
• The bed fits together well, and is sturdy.
• This bed will take a standard small double 4 ft width mattress with a non-standard, shorter length of 6 ft long.
• We cannot provide a metal framed bed base for this bed, but included in this listing is a made to measure slatted pine bed base.
