Fitting the bed base to antique French metal bed
- On most antique metal beds the adjustable bed base will ideally sits on all four corners of the frame.
- Most antique metal beds, French and British, fix together with a ‘jigsaw’ fitting. This cast iron fitting is usually where the base sits.
- As you can see neither the sides nor ends touch the metal frame and the construction of the base means it is self supporting in the centre.
- Because the base is not notched it will need securing.
- You can drill through the frame, or we can provide cable ties, free of charge. They work well, with ease, and can be hidden.
- The video in this link shows our King Size version of this product being fitted to a metal bed. The product is exactly the same construction, just a different size and colour frame.
